Locksmith on the North Shore

The North Shore is where a lockout costs you the most time, because the nearest shop is rarely near: Terrebonne, Blainville and Saint-Eustache have grown faster than the trades that serve them, and after 6 p.m. most locksmith counters are closed. So we run the North Shore on a dispatched van with a firm arrival window instead of an optimistic one. The houses are newer and bigger than on the island: attached garages whose side door is the real entrance, patio doors on decks that never got a proper lock, and builder-grade cylinders on whole streets of Blainville and Terrebonne that were keyed by the contractor. Rosemère and Lorraine add older wooded lots with detached garages and sheds, which means padlocks, gate locks and outbuilding doors on the same visit. Saint-Eustache's old core has heavy doors and mortise locks worth keeping. And the cold bites harder here: the January freeze-outs start on the North Shore a week before they start downtown.
