Locksmith in the East End

The East End mixes 1960s bungalows and duplexes with the island's densest strip of small commerce, and the calls follow: a Saint-Léonard duplex where the basement tenant's door still runs on the original builder cylinder, a Montréal-Nord dépanneur whose storefront lock was pried overnight, a Rivière-des-Prairies garage side door kicked in during a week of break-ins. Storefront work here is about speed and a proper repair. A temporary board-up is useless if the lock body is bent, so the van carries commercial cylinders, strike plates and a wrap-around plate that lets a damaged wood or aluminum door lock properly the same night. On the residential side, the most common job is simply the deadbolt that was never installed. Many East End doors still lock with the knob only, and a proper deadbolt with three-inch strike screws is the cheapest security upgrade on the island.
